Hangu is a city and district in Kohat division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan. Its area is 1097 Sq. Km. The name Hangu is sometimes used for Miranzai Valley whose some of the portion lies in this district bordering the Samana range. According to 2023 delimitation, this district has been allocated one seat of Provincial Assembly of KPK and one seat of National Assembly (Hangu-cum-Orakzai). Tehsils of Hangu District:
It has following two Tehsils:
- Tehsil Hangu. Its area is 669 Sq. Km, while population according to 2023 census is 280,883.
- Tehsil Thall. Its area is 428 Sq. Km, while population according to 2023 census is 248,019.
Hangu District Population:
According to 2023 census, population of Hangu district is 528,902, male population is 260,293, while female population is 268,601. According to 2017 census, its population was 518,811.
